About Rita "RLSP"
After receiving my Honours Bachelor of Arts in Law and Society and Women’s Studies from York University, I then furthered my studies and attended Seneca College of Applied Arts and Technology to obtain my Court and Tribunal Agent Diploma. I subsequently completed my Paralegal work placement with Kevin Fox, a prominent employment lawyer located in Toronto, Ontario whom I then began working full time for in November of 2008 and enjoyed working for until October 2017. I successfully completed my Paralegal Licensing exam in January of 2009 and became a proud member of the Law Society of Upper Canada. I am also a commissioner for taking affidavits. Throughout my years in Toronto, I have had the privilege of working for various prominent employment, labour law and class action lawyers including Arthur Tarasuk, Kenneth Alexander and James LeNoury.
In October 2017 I made the move west and settled in Okotoks, Alberta (just south of Calgary).
In November 2017 I began offering virtual assistant and administration services to lawyers, as well as other professionals. My focus is still centred around employment law, labour law and human rights matters. However, I also have the pleasure of working alongside Ted Crawford, Realtor at The Ted Crawford Group with Royal LePage Solutions, as his Office Manager.
I also work in sales for Ryley Learning. Ryley Learning provides cost-effective, simple and engaging learning opportunities that educate employees on sexual harassment and anti-racism in the workplace. As a paralegal in an employment law practice, I have worked with both employees and employer-side clients. Knowing "what really goes on" in workplaces is an asset in understanding what Ryley Learning's customers need to ensure they have a safe workplace. I believe Ryley Learning's programs should be a prerequisite in all employment relationships.
